Where candidates lose points

Self-reported, from candidate write-ups. Your own Miss list will disagree with this one, and it is the one that counts.

  1. 01

    Governance and compliance

Azure Policy, resource locks and Purview do neighbouring jobs. Candidates who failed name this section first.

  2. 02

    Which service does what

Forty-odd service names, several of them close together. Recognising a name is not the same as placing it.

  3. 03

    Cost management

The pricing calculator, Cost Management and Advisor are three different answers to three different questions.

  4. 04

    Cloud vocabulary

Candidates new to cloud report the volume of unfamiliar terms as the problem, not any one domain.

  5. 05

Practice tests that do not match the exam

One candidate reports the real exam gave fewer questions and less time than the practice test they trained on. Two failed at 690 of 1000 after heavy practice-test use.

Reported prep runs from a long weekend to six weeks at an hour or two a day, on Microsoft Learn plus practice tests. Those are community figures: Microsoft publishes no recommended duration.
